Independent home battery advice — free calculator, honest payback figures.

About us

An independent guide to home energy storage

HomeBattery.com explains what home batteries do, what they cost and what they realistically save. We do not sell batteries, so we have no reason to make the numbers look good.

What we are trying to do

Home storage is a confusing market. Specifications are inconsistent, savings claims are optimistic and the rules change every year. Most homeowners are asked to spend thousands on a decision they cannot check.

We build the tools and the explanations we would want ourselves: a calculator that shows its working, articles that state what is uncertain, and comparisons that do not quietly favour an advertiser.

Our editorial rules

  • Conservative assumptions over flattering ones
  • Every figure traceable to a source or a model
  • Advertising and affiliate links marked, never disguised as advice
  • Corrections published, not quietly edited away

How an article gets published

STEP 1

Source

Regulator documents, manufacturer datasheets and grid operator rules — primary sources, not press releases.

STEP 2

Model

Anything financial goes through the same hourly simulation engine that powers the public calculator.

STEP 3

Review

A second editor checks the claims and the dates. Time-sensitive figures get a review date.
