A portable power station is not a home battery

Power stations power devices plugged into them and are charged from a socket, car or solar panel. They are not wired into a home's electrical system and do not manage your tariff, so they solve a different problem from the installed batteries elsewhere on this site.

At a glance
  • VTOMAN sells portable power stations to customers in the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia and elsewhere, led by the FlashSpeed 1000 and FlashSpeed 1500
  • The FlashSpeed 1000 has 828 Wh and 1000W output, and the FlashSpeed 1500 has 1,548 Wh and 1500W output with 3000W peak; both use LiFePO4 cells
  • A 1,548 Wh extra battery connects to either unit, taking the 1000 to 2,376 Wh and the 1500 to 3,096 Wh
  • Warranty is 24 months in the manual and on VTOMAN's UK product pages, while VTOMAN's UK user-guide page and a 2026 review give 5 years for the FlashSpeed 1500; the manual says battery cells are excluded, so read the terms for the exact model you buy

Who is VTOMAN

VTOMAN describes itself as a global innovator in portable energy solutions and sells direct through its own regional web stores, including a UK store, as well as through large marketplaces. Its press material says it serves customers in the US, UK, Germany, France and Australia, with a 30-day money-back guarantee and free shipping.

We have not been able to confirm a founding date or the head office from independent sources, so we leave those out. The products and their listed specifications are what we can describe.

The VTOMAN product range

The FlashSpeed 1000 stores 828 Wh in a LiFePO4 battery and delivers 1000W continuously, with 2000W peak, 12 output ports and fast mains charging from 0 to 80% in about an hour. The larger FlashSpeed 1500 stores 1,548 Wh, delivers 1500W continuously with 3000W peak and can recharge from empty in about an hour from a wall socket, according to VTOMAN.

Both models accept the FlashSpeed 1500 Extra Battery, a 1,548 Wh unit connected with a dedicated cable. That doubles the 1500 to 3,096 Wh, or takes the 1000 from 828 Wh to 2,376 Wh. VTOMAN also sells foldable solar panels sized to match.

Key technology behind VTOMAN power stations

VTOMAN uses LiFePO4 cells with its own battery management system, which it markets as the SuperSafe LiFeBMS with ten protections. The high AC input, up to 1500W on the FlashSpeed 1500, is what allows the roughly one-hour recharge, and the FlashSpeed 1500 can also act as an uninterruptible power supply for plugged-in devices.

Charging from solar is supported with compatible panels. VTOMAN gives about 4 to 6 hours with 200W of panels for the FlashSpeed 1000, depending on sunlight.

Strengths and limitations

Here is a balanced picture of the VTOMAN range.

Strengths

  • Fast mains charging, so a depleted unit is ready again within about an hour
  • LiFePO4 cells with a stated 3,000-plus cycle life
  • Expandable with a matching extra battery rather than buying a second complete unit
  • A UK web store and published UK user manuals

Worth checking before you buy

  • Slightly bulky for the capacity: a TechRadar review notes the FlashSpeed 1000 is larger than most stations of its capacity
  • Warranty period is not stated consistently across the sources we found
  • Expansion only works with VTOMAN's own extra battery
  • Not a whole-home battery and cannot be wired into a consumer unit as a home battery

Where VTOMAN fits the market

VTOMAN competes with EcoFlow, Bluetti, Jackery, DJI and Pecron in the 1 to 3 kWh power station segment, generally on price and charging speed rather than a large app and accessory ecosystem.

A power station can cover a short power cut for essentials or run tools and camping gear, but it will not shift your household's electricity use onto cheaper tariffs the way an installed battery can. For that, start with our plug-in versus installed comparison.

Common questions about VTOMAN

What does VTOMAN make?

VTOMAN makes portable power stations, with the FlashSpeed 1000 and FlashSpeed 1500 as its main models, plus a matching extra battery and solar panels.

Is VTOMAN a UK company?

We have no evidence it is. VTOMAN sells in the UK through a UK web store and marketplaces, so treat it as an overseas brand with UK sales channels.

How much can the FlashSpeed 1500 power?

It is rated at 1500W continuous with 3000W peak and stores 1,548 Wh. As a rough guide, a 100W load such as a laptop and router could run for many hours, while a 1500W kettle would drain it in well under an hour.

Can I expand a VTOMAN power station?

Yes. The FlashSpeed 1500 Extra Battery (1,548 Wh) connects to the FlashSpeed 1000 or 1500 with a dedicated cable. It only works with VTOMAN's own units.

What warranty does VTOMAN offer?

The manual and VTOMAN's UK product pages give 24 months, while VTOMAN's UK user-guide page and a 2026 review give 5 years for the FlashSpeed 1500. The manual also says battery cells are excluded, so confirm the term and exclusions for the exact model and seller.

Can a VTOMAN power station replace a home battery?

No. It powers devices plugged into it and is recharged from the mains, a car or solar panels. It is not connected to your home's wiring, so it cannot store cheap off-peak electricity for the whole house the way an installed battery does.
