myenergi

An independent look at myenergi, the Grimsby company behind the libbi home battery, the zappi EV charger and the eddi solar diverter, and how its modular battery fits a UK home.

Use an approved installer

myenergi says the libbi warranty only applies when a myenergi-trained, registered installer fits and commissions the system. Commissioning by anyone else can void it.

At a glance
  • myenergi is a UK company, with its address in Stallingborough, Grimsby, known for the zappi EV charger, the eddi solar diverter and the libbi home battery
  • libbi is modular: each LiFePO4 battery module is 5.12 kWh nominal (4.6 kWh usable at 90% depth of discharge), and systems run from 5 kWh to 20 kWh with a 3.68 kW or 5 kW inverter
  • myenergi's support page lists 10 years on the battery and on the hybrid inverter (from commissioning) and 3 years on the controller, valid when a myenergi-trained installer registered on its portal fits and commissions the system; some retailers list 5 years for the inverter and controller, so confirm for your package
  • Backup power during an outage is available only if the installer enables and wires it, and it does not automatically power the whole home

Who is myenergi

myenergi Ltd is a UK energy technology company with its address at Pioneer Business Park, Stallingborough, Grimsby. It is best known for the zappi smart EV charger and the eddi diverter, which sends surplus solar power to heat water. The libbi battery was added to let households store surplus solar for later use and to work with the rest of the myenergi range.

It has a trained-installer portal on which systems are registered, which the libbi warranty depends on.

The myenergi product range

libbi is a hybrid system made of a controller, an inverter and battery modules. The datasheet lists models with a 3.68 kW or 5 kW inverter and 5, 10, 15 or 20 kWh of battery (for example LIBBI-305Sh, 3.68 kW with 5 kWh, and LIBBI-505Sh, 5 kW with 5 kWh). A three-phase version also exists. Each battery module is 540 x 500 x 240 mm, and retailers list the weight at roughly 54 to 58 kg.

The battery module can also be bought as an add-on to expand an existing libbi system. The myenergi datasheet says libbi can be integrated with other myenergi devices, prioritising stored electricity to power the home, an eddi or a zappi.

Key technology behind libbi

libbi uses LiFePO4 cells at 51.2V with an IP65 rating, so it can be fitted outdoors. Retailers cite a 10,000-cycle life. The key idea is integration: libbi shares data with zappi and eddi through the myenergi app, so surplus solar can go to the car, the water heater or the battery according to your priorities.

Emergency power supply is an optional feature that must be enabled and wired during installation by an approved installer, and myenergi is clear that it is not an automatic whole-home backup.

Strengths and limitations

Here is a balanced picture of libbi.

Strengths

  • UK company with UK-based support and a trained-installer network
  • Modular: start with 5 kWh and add modules up to 20 kWh
  • Integrates with zappi and eddi, which suits homes that already use those products
  • IP65 module suitable for garages and outdoor fitting

Worth checking before you buy

  • The 10-year warranty is conditional on a myenergi-trained, registered installer
  • Maximum 20 kWh per system, smaller than some single-module rivals
  • Backup is an add-on that needs extra wiring and does not cover the whole home automatically
  • Installer-led: not a plug-in product. In Great Britain, rules that took effect on 27 August 2026 allow plug-in solar panel kits of up to 800W to be self-installed, but they explicitly exclude plug-in batteries. A battery like this still needs fitting under the normal UK electrical and battery-storage rules.

Where myenergi fits the market

libbi competes with Sunsynk, Alpha ESS, Duracell Energy and GivEnergy in the UK. Its strength is the wider myenergi ecosystem, so it is most attractive if you already have, or plan to add, a zappi or eddi.

Common questions about myenergi

What is libbi?

libbi is myenergi's home battery system: a controller, a 3.68 kW or 5 kW inverter and modular 5.12 kWh LiFePO4 battery modules, managed through the myenergi app.

Is myenergi a UK company?

Yes. myenergi Ltd is based at Pioneer Business Park, Stallingborough, Grimsby, UK.

How big can a libbi system be?

Up to 20 kWh from four 5 kWh modules in one system. Retailer listings also mention connecting two systems in parallel.

Can I install libbi myself?

No. It must be installed and commissioned by a myenergi-trained, registered installer, otherwise the warranty can be void, and grid-connected systems need to be notified to your network operator.

Does libbi give backup power in a cut?

Only if the installer enables and wires the emergency power supply feature. It is not an automatic whole-home backup.

What warranty does libbi have?

myenergi's support page lists 10 years on the battery and on the hybrid inverter, counted from installation and commissioning, and 3 years on the controller, valid only when a myenergi-trained installer commissions the system. Some retailers list 5 years for the inverter and controller, so check the terms for your package.
